Mark Zandler, Managing Director

Mark started his insurance career in 1978 with the Prudential Assurance Company as a motor underwriter and then fleet underwriter in 1980. He passed the HND in business studies at Croydon Technical College in 1981. In 1982 he became the manager of the motor broking department before moving on to be appointed as a fire & accident inspector in 1984 and subsequently a general branch consultant in 1987, a role in which he was responsible for the growth and development of the Prudential corporate commercial account across 3 branches.

In 1991 he left to form Lincoln Insurance Services, an independent commercial broker. In 1997, Lincoln Insurance Services transacted a merger/management buyout with Tilbury Steward Limited to form Lincoln Tilbury Steward Limited and Mark took on the role of operations director. In 2001 Lincoln Tilbury Steward Limited merged with Truman Insurance Services Limited to form Truman Lincoln Limited where again Mark took on the role of operations director, specifically responsible for developing the established corporate account and running the day-to-day financial affairs of the business. In 2006, following a merger with the BKG Group of companies, Mark became the Managing Director of COBRA Insurance Brokers with responsibility for the growing branch network. Mark was appointed a director of COBRA Tubbs Batten in April 2007.

Peter Bright, Executive Director

Peter joined Norwich Union in 1974 and left in 1977 to join local Croydon broker Francis Townsend and Co. Limited. After running the general insurance division for a number of years, Peter started his own broking business, P J Bright Insurance Brokers in 1984. The business expanded to incorporate life and pensions work and Peter went on to practice as a qualified IFA.

P J Bright Insurance Brokers merged with BKG Group of Companies in June 2000. Following the formation of COBRA in 2003, Peter became a shareholder and Director of COBRA and subsequently Peter became the director of COBRA Insurance Brokers and is responsible for the Caterham Office. In January 2008, Peter became Executive Director.

Howard Collins, Operational Director

Howard started his insurance career with the Thompson & Richardson Group in Lincolnshire,  where he spent 10 years, culminating in him becoming Existing Business Manager.

Truman Lincoln Ltd recruited Howard in 2002 as Existing Business Commercial Manager and he was then subsequently appointed as an Associate Director.

Following the merger of Truman Lincoln Ltd and BKG Insurance Brokers in January 2006, Howard was appointed Head of Existing Business and his responsibilities include customer service for medium to large clients of Cobra Insurance Brokers, acquisition of new commercial clients and the claims department. In January 2008 Howard was promoted to Operations Director, bringing both the Commercial Development Unit and Personal Lines Team under his remit.

Howard is married with three children, and his hobbies are cricket, golf and motor sport.

David MacKinnon, Director

David started his insurance career in Scotland in 1989 with Swinton Insurance, specialising in personal insurances. In 1991 David was appointed Area Support Manager at Arnott Insurance and was promoted to Branch Manager in 1993.
 
In 1996, David re-located to England and progressed into the Business/Commercial Insurance arena.  In 2002, David joined Tubbs Insurance Services Ltd in West Byfleet, as  Commercial Manager with responsibility to developing the size of the company. David was part of the management team that successfully achieved and surpassed this vision.
 
In 2007, Tubbs Insurance Services became part of  COBRA Insurance Brokers and David was promoted to the board of Directors. David is now based at Head Office in Caterham Surrey.   
 
David has been an active supporter of the Insurance Institute of Guildford. Starting as Sports & Social Secretary progressing into the role of Deputy President, and culminating in the role of President in 2006/2007.   David continues to assist Guildford Institute to this day.
 
Married with a young son, David plays 5-a-side football, snooker/pool and competitive table tennis. He also ventures to the gym on occasions.
